One Saturday afternoon Becky sat on the sofa knitting away on a lace shawl. More than one customer paused to watch her in amazement as she casually and confidently knit along. When someone finally asked how she could knit lace in the middle of the store she said, it's much quieter here than at home!
Even if that's true, which is hard to believe because her kids are so well-behaved, there aren't many knitters who can work on something intricate with so much activity around them.
Becky finished the shawl this week and sent us these photos of her beautiful Driftwood Victorian Shoulder Shawl.
The pattern is from Jade Sapphire and the yarn is their 2-ply cashmere. Each skein has 400 yards, which allows for some wonderful 1 skein projects, like this one. We just received our fall shipment, so there are plenty of wonderful colors to choose from.
We also have Jade Sapphire's 6-ply cashmere. It knits up around 5 stitches to the inch, but can easily go a little smaller or larger. One skein makes a great pair of fingerless gloves or a hat.
This is my favorite grouping of the 6-ply colors. I've got to knit something from one of them.
Knitting with cashmere is fun because it feels so good running over your fingers. And cashmere hand knits are a fantastic gift for you or your friends. Speaking of which, Becky tells us that her shawl is a gift for a friend - how wonderful!
Thank you for sending the pictures, Becky! The shawl looks great!
