We were all inspired by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne when they visited us last spring with their first book, Mason Dixon Knitting. But none of us caught Log Cabin fever like our co-worker Kathy. We ran out of steam and ended up with potholders; Kathy persevered and made a blanket.
The blanket used 56 balls of Cashmerino Aran and took 4 months to knit. It's pictured on a twin bed, to give you an idea of the size.
The inspiration for this epic project was Kathy's daughter Alice. Alice left for her freshman year of college this fall, and Kathy wanted to give her something special.
She certainly did.
