knit the magic

Earlier this week we received more of Be Sweet's Magic Ball yarn. Each ball is a stunning assemblage of hand spun and dyed baby mohair with ribbons, cords, and other wonderful shiny strands. The range of colors and textures allows for endless possibilities -

With one skein, you can cast 15 stitches on a size 15 needles and knit every row until it's done. Or try a size 17 needle or a 35. You can also cast on 100 stitches and knit every row for long swaths of color.

My current favorite approach is to cast on 3 stitches and knit into the front and back of the first stitch of every row for a triangular shawl. Some of our customers did this on a size 11 needle and used 2 skeins, for a denser and larger shawl.

Because they knit up quickly and no two are alike, they make great gifts. Pick your favorite color and knit a little magic!
