lotorp bag

The Lotorp Bag knit in Iro Yarn

We've started re-arranging a bit in the store for fall and as we were moving the Noro yarns, I fell in love with them all over again. I like the rustic, wooly feel and the rich colors. Perhaps my favorite is Iro, a chunky blend of wool and silk. I went looking for a pattern and found Lotorp in Noro Revisited by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton.

The bag is knit flat in one piece then folded and seamed. Tuttle suggests a smaller than usual needle so that the bag is sturdy; I think I would go down one more size on the next one. Although the next one I knit will be the smaller version that is made with 2 skeins of Kureyon (as opposed to 3 of Iro).
